Chicago Waste Hauler Supporting the 2021 Walk for Kidneys

SBC Waste Solutions is the official Chicago Waste Hauler Supporting the 2021 Walk for Kidney’s event by providing free trash and recycling services. Presented by the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, the event will take place at Montrose Harbor in Chicago, Illinois. Participants of the Walk for Kidney event will come together to advocate for kidney disease research and education, while walking along Lake Michigan. The event begins at 9:00 AM. As part of the event, there will also be a health fair, glucose screenings, a T-shirt creation contest, a raffle drawing, and kid-friendly activities such as a balloon artist and a coloring contest.

Kidney Disease Affects Millions

Kidney disease is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Approximately one in three adults in the US are at risk of developing chronic kidney disease. Two of the groups who are most likely to be affected by kidney disease include people with diabetes and people with high blood pressure. Around 37 million people are battling against kidney disease right now.

As a Chicago waste hauler, we look forward to participating in this important Chicagoland event. Kidney disease research is a mission we care about a lot at SBC. Chronic kidney disease is such a scary disease because many individuals don’t know they have it until it is too late. We have seen a lot of families devastated by this disease.

 Get Involved 

It is not too late to register for the Walk for Kidneys. You can also participate in the event virtually by donating online. There is also a virtual walk event where individuals can hear stories from some of the participants of the fundraiser, learn how to cook some kidney-friendly dishes, and watch the tribute ceremony.
